Vincent B. Smith, or VinMan as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was a blessing and beautiful spirit to all who knew him. A gentle giant, Vince was a loving husband, proud girl-dad, goofy grandfather, beloved brother, favorite uncle, and outstanding member of the community.

This tournament aims to serve a multitude of purposes by uniting some of Vince’s favorite passions — family and friends, sports, education, and community.

Vince’s family and friends are pleased to offer an impactful event where all who join can celebrate the 62 joyous years they had with him. Proudly, 100% of the proceeds from the tournament benefit the Vincent B. Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Developed to help students from Binghamton High School pursue careers in accounting, finance management, or business management — careers in line with the 35 years of service Vince provided to local school districts — is awarded at the culmination of the school year.

An accomplished athlete, Vince was a valued member of the Binghamton Indians Basketball team during his years at Binghamton North High School. Later in life, he enjoyed being a “pit parent” for the Binghamton High School Marching Band and coached softball for more than 10 years with the Binghamton Recreation League. Additionally, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and, of course, golf.

Those who knew and loved VinMan hope you’ll join them for this touching event. Golfers of all skill levels are welcome as it’s a scramble format tournament. A dinner at the Clubhouse Grill will follow where tournament prizes will be awarded, and winners of both a basket and 50/50 raffle will be announced.
